Local newspaper the Kansas City Star reported that Sykes ‘leaned to one side of his chair and released a loud fart’ when asked of his address.
Detectives wrote: ‘Mr. Sykes continued to be flatulent and I ended the interview.’
According to the reports, Police decided not to file charges against him at the time but he met his Waterloo two months later, when Kansas Police allegedly found in possession of .38 caliber revolver, marijuana and crack cocaine.
One of the guns, a .357 Magnum, had been reported stolen a few days before.
Sykes has now been charged with stolen firearm offences and possession with intent to sell cocaine. He made an initial court appearance last Monday and he's held in custody until a bond can be set.
