Nigerian journalist, Tijjani Ado Ahmad, slumped and died today Oct 1st in the US. According to his friend and colleague in the Industry, Jafaar Jafaar, Tijajani was in the US on invitation by the US Embassy in Abuja to tour the states and meet with Nigerian students studying there. The last time we spoke was an invitation he extended to me to feature on a programme he co-anchored, Barka da Hantsi, whenever I was in Kano. Tijjani was proficient in many beats and could get along with the most difficult newsmaker you knew. Paris Saint-Germain forward Angel Di Maria has been sentenced to one year in prison and will pay a £1.76million fine after admitting to tax fraud in Spain. The Rivers State Commissioner of Police has ordered the immediate arrest of a policeman, who killed an innocent satchet water seller on Saturday morning, September 30 in Obio-Akpor local Government area of the state.  The officer identified as one Corporal Rowland Onyijie of Okporo Division in Obio-Akpor local Government area of the Police Command, had allegedly demanded for N100 from a sachet water vendor who refused. Eyewitnesses says as the argument ensued, the Police Corporal cocked his rifle, and release the bullet, instantly killing the sachet water Vendor in his Tricycle. Spokesperson for the Command,  Nnamdi Omoni, who onfirmed the incident said that the Commissioner of Rivers State, CP Zaki Ahmed, has ordered for the immediate arrest and detention of the Corporal at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID for further inquest into the reckless killing.
