Death toll at Las Vegas concert shooting rises to 50 with over 200 people injured..suspect was a 64yr old man

The death toll at the Las Vegas concert last night has risen to 50 with at least 200 people injured. Dozens were killed in a shooting outside the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino after a gunman unloaded hundreds of rounds of ammo on a Las Vegas country music festival on Sunday night. Witnesses said shots were fired from an elevated hotel position. More than 100 people were wounded. There were 30,000 people in attendance at the event. According to LVMPD Sheriff Joe Lombardo, Off-duty police officers are among the dead. Their identities have not been released. Two police officers are also being treated for injuries with one officer in critical condition and the other has minor injuries.  The shooter is said to be 64 and his female companion has been arrested.

Jubilation in Imo state as police kill most wanted robber

There was wild jubilation at the Imo state police command yesterday as police officers celebrated the death of a 27-year-old notorious armed robber, Ihechi Nwankwo, who had been terrorizing the state for a very long time. According to the state police public relations officer, Andrew Enwerem, the suspect who hails from Amaumara in the Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of the state, had been on their wanted list for a long time. He was accused of masterminding a lot of armed robbery attacks in the state. In an interview with Southern City News, Enwerem said the slain suspect was involved in robbing a bank customer of N8m at Access Bank at Ahiara Junction on August 8th. He also robbed one Jovita Enwerem of N650,000 at gunpoint at Ahiara Junction on June 21st. Two German men made history on Sunday by emerging the first gay couple to marry in Germany, the same day a new law came into force putting gay and lesbian couples on equal right. Karl Kreile and his partner Bodo Mende, exchanged their vows at the town hall in Schöneberg, Berlin, three months after lawmakers voted to give Germany’s roughly 94,000 same-sex couples the right to marry. The grooms reportedly made a ground entering to the popular "Wedding March" by 19th-century German composer Felix Mendelssohn, before saying their vows and signing the marriage documents. Kreile, 59, said it was an "incredible honor" to be the first same-sex couple to marry in Germany, noting that he and Mende, 60, had been campaigning for gay rights for decades. Nigerian journalist, Tijjani Ado Ahmad, slumped and died today Oct 1st in the US. According to his friend and colleague in the Industry, Jafaar Jafaar, Tijajani was in the US on invitation by the US Embassy in Abuja to tour the states and meet with Nigerian students studying there.
